It is now nearly 70 years since WW2 ended. Since that time numerous historians, specialising in the Czechoslovak men and women who served in the RAF in WW2, have spent a considerable amount of time trying to compile a photographic record of these Czechoslovak personnel.

Druhá světová válka skončila před téměř 70 lety. Od té doby mnoho historiků, specializujících se na záznamy o československých ženách a mužích, sloužících za druhé světové války v RAF, strávilo mnoho hodin ve snaze dát dohromady fotografický archiv tohoto československého personálu.

For some of these historians this has been a lifelong project to try and achieve. Unfortunately, despite their valiant efforts todate, there are currently still around 400 of these men and women who have yet to be identified in photographs

Pro některé z těchto historiků je to celoživotní projekt, který si přejí realizovat. Bohužel, i přes jejich obrovskou dosavadní snahu zbývá dnes ještě asi 400 mužů a žen, které je třeba fotograficky identifikovat.

There are now only a very few of those personnel are still with us. In many cases other people who had known these Czechoslovaks personnel are now also no longer still with us. This means that the ability for the identification of those personnel is rapidly running out.

Mezi námi žije již jen velmi málo z těch,kteří se počítali k tomuto leteckému personálu, což znamená, že možností identifikovat tyto ženy a muže rapidně ubývá.

We appeal to all descendants, relatives of these Czechoslovak personnel and all others who are interested in the Czechoslovaks who served in the RAF to please check any photos that you have. It would be very sad and disappointing if these 400, unidentified for the last seven decades, were to remain unrecognised for the benefit of future reference and research.

Prosíme tímto všechny potomky, příbuzné či známé těchto Čechoslováků, i všechny ostatní, kteří se zajímají o Čechoslováky sloužící v RAF, aby laskavě prohlédli fotografie, které mají. Bylo by to skutečně smutné a velké zklamání, kdyby těchto 400, u jejichž jmen posledních sedmdesát let chyběla fotografie, zůstalo nepoznaných pro benefit budoucích referencí a bádání.
