MEN OF THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN
A new edition of Men of the Battle of Britain by Kenneth G Wynn is to appear on June 30 2015. This third edition will be published by Frontline Books in association with the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust. The Trust acquired all rights to the work in 2010, as a result of an anonymous donation and since then it has made many additions and amendments, as well as adding new photographs.
Men of the Battle of Britain was first published in 1989 and is acknowledged worldwide as the standard work of reference giving career details of the Allied airmen who qualified for the “immediate” award of the 1939-1945 Star with Battle of Britain Clasp. The Battle of Britain Memorial Trust is the custodian of the National Memorial to The Few at Capel-le-Ferne, Kent.
Richard Hunting, CBE, Chairman of the Trust commented, “We regard it as vital to the study and commemoration of the Battle that ‘Wynn’ should appear again. Ken Wynn did great work to produce the new edition and, with the resources available to the Trust, we have been able to supplement his efforts. Those who study the Battle can look forward to much new information.”
Martin Mace, Publisher of Frontline Books, declared, “A new edition of ‘Wynn’, only the third in over a quarter of a century, will be one of the major aviation publishing events of 2015, the year of the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.”
Further details will be announced in due course. Anyone who would like to be placed on a mailing list for more information should email Jules Gomez at julesgomez.bobmt@gmail.com.
