2012 Capel le Ferne Slavnostní památník bitvy o Británii

The Ceremony to commemorate the 72nd Anniversary of the Battle of Britain was held on 15 July 2012 at the National Battle of Britain Memorial, at Capel-le-Ferne, Kent.

Dne 15. července 2012 v Národním památníku bitvy o Britanii, v Capel-le-Ferne, Kent se konala oslava 72. výročí bitvy o Anglii.

In this critical battle for Britain, and possibly the most important air battle in history,  2,941 RAF pilots – ‘The Few’ – fought in the Royal Air Force against the German Luftwaffe.

V této kritické bitvě o Británii a pravděpodobně nejdůležitější letecké bitvě v historii, malé množství 2941 pilotů RAF bojovalo v Royal Air Force proti přesile Německé Luftwaffe.

Eighty eight of those pilots were Czechoslovak, the second largest contingent of pilots from Nazi occupied countries in Europe. During this three month long campaign, nine of these Czechoslovak pilots were killed with others being wounded or badly burnt. All these pilots are commemorated at this site, on the Christopher Foxley-Norris Memorial Wall, where their names are engraved.

Z těchto bojovníků bylo 88 československých letců, druhé největší skupiny pilotů z nacisty okupovaných zemí v Evropě. Během této tři měsíce trvající letecké bitvy přišlo o život 9 československých letců a mnoho dalších utrpělo zranění, převážně to byly vážné popáleniny. Všichni tito piloti jsou připomínáni svými vyrytými jmény na pamětní zdi pamětního místa Foxley Christopher Norris.

The contribution made by these 88 Czechoslovak Battle of Britain pilots is remembered at this Memorial.

V tomto památníku je připomenuta účast 88 československých pilotů v Bitvě o Británii.

The Guest of Honour for the 2012 Ceremony was Air Chief Marshall Sir Stephan Dalton GCB ADC, RAF Chief of the Air Staff and amongst the invited guests were 12 of ‘The Few’ In attendance were Air Training Corp cadets from all of Kent, Standard bearers from over 70 different RAF veteran organisations from all over the UK and, despite concerns over the weather, was well attended by other visitors.

Na slavnostním shromáždění byl čestným hostem hlavní letecký maršál sir Stephan Dalton GCB ADC, velitel RAF sil a mezi pozvanými hosty byli přítomni kadeti dopravního letectva z celého Kentu, zástupci veteránů RAF, více než 70 různých organizací z celé Velké Británie a to i přes obavy z počasí se oslavy zůčastnilo mnoho dalších návštěvníků.

Music was provided by the Central Band of the Royal Air Force and also Pipe Band of 2513 Squadron Air Training Corps.

Hudební doprovod poskytla centrální kapela královského letectva a také kapela dechových nástrojů 2513 letky dopravního letectva.

The Ceremony was opened at 13:30 with a flypast by a Spitfire and Hurricane of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Vzpomínkový obřad bitvy o Británii byl zahájen v 13.30 hod. průletem Spitfire a Hurricane.

Following speech’s wreaths were then laid at the Memorial by Air Chief Marshall Sir Stephan Dalton GCB ADC, RAF veteran organisations, local dignitaries and the Military Attache’s of Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, France, New Zealand and the Slovak Republic.

Po projevech Vrchního leteckého maršála RAF, sira Stephana Daltona GCB ADC, zástupců veteránských organizací, místních hodnostářů a vojenských ataše Austrálie, Kanady, České republiky, Francie, Nového Zélandu a Slovenska, byly položeny k památníku věnce.

The ceremony was closed at 15:00 by the return of the Spitfire and Hurricane who gave individual and joint flying displays.

Slavnostní shromáždění bylo ukončeno v 15.00 hod. návratem a průletem skupiny Spitfire a Hurricane.

Attending guests then laid colourful red, white and blue flower poses at the Christopher Foxley-Norris Memorial Wall where the names of the 2938 RAF pilots who flew in the Battle of Britain – ‘The Few’ – are engraved.

Účast hostů pak podle barevného červeného, bílého a modrého květu, představuje na Christopher Noris Memorial Foxley-zdi, kde jsou vyryta jména 2938 pilotů RAF, kteří se zúčastnili bitvy o Británii.

In 2012, the Czechoslovak pilots of 310 (Czechoslovak) Sqn and 312 (Czechoslovak) Sqn were remembered, sadly in 2010 the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain they were forgotten by the Czech and Slovak authorities.

V roce 2012 si českoslovenští letci 310. a 312. perutě RAF, vzpomínkovou akcí připoměli, že v roce 2010 tomu bylo 70 let, kdy došlo k rozhodující bitvě o Velkou Britanii. Této akce se nezúčastnil nikdo z českých a slovenských úřadů.
