V pondělí 31. 10. 2016 proběhla na MěÚ v Havlíčkově Brodě tisková konference ke 100. výročí narození nejlepšího čs. stíhače Karla M. Kuttelwaschera. Tuto připomínku organizovala společnost PROMEDICA PRAHA GROUP, a.s. spolu s Czech Spitfire Clubem. Vzácným hostem byla paní Vee Darlington, dcera Karla Kuttelwaschera, která 28. 10. 2016 za něj převzala Řád bílého lva. Konferenci slovem provázel Ing. Zdeněk Sádecký, předseda Czech Spitfire Clubu.

On Monday 31 October 2016, a press conference was held at Havlíčkův Brod to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Karel M. Kuttelwascher, the most successful Czechoslovak fighter pilot of WW2. The event was jointly organised by the Promedica Praha Group a.s. together with the Czech Spitfire Club. Guest of Honour was Vee Darlington, one of Karel Kuttelwascher’s daughters who, on 28 October 2016 had received the Řád bílého lva = Oder of the White Lion – on behalf of her father. The conference was chaired by Ing. Zdeněk Sádecký, Chairman of the Czech Spitfire Club chairman.

Byly promítnuty dva krátké filmy o čs. letcích v RAF z nichž jeden byl věnovaný právě Karlu Kuttelwascherovi. Dále pak Ing. Vladimíra Horváthová ze společnost PROMEDICA PRAHA GROUP, a.s. předala paní Vee Darlington příspěvek 50 000,-Kč na léčbu pro její sestru Mari Rowe (mladší dvojče), která má diagnostikován mnohočetný myelom.

During the conference two short films about Czechoslovak airmen in RAF were shown, one of which was about Karel Kuttelwascher. During the conference, Ing. Vladimíra Horváthová from Promedica Praha Group a.s. presented Mrs Vee Darlington a 50 000,- Kč donation towards the treatment of her younger sister, Mari Rowe who has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma.

Dalšími hosty byli také Jiří a Ondřej Soukupovi za Aviation Art Gallery, kteří se zabývají tvorbou obrazů hlavně s leteckou tématikou. Autorský tandem zde představil svůj nejnovější obraz „Noční loviště St. André“.

Also attending the conference were Jiří and Ondřej Soukup from Aviation Art Gallery whose paintings mainly have an aviation theme. The two artists presented their latest ‘Night Hunting Ground St. André’.

Je na něm zachycena typická noční akce F/Lt. Karla Kuttelwaschera vzlétajícího ve svém Hurricanu JX-E „Night Reaper“ na operace Night Intruder. Podepsanou kopii tohoto obrazu s věnováním předali Jiří a Ondřej přítomné dceři tohoto pilota paní Vee Darlington.

This painting depicts a typical night combat of F/Lt. Karel Kuttelwascher flying in his Hurricane JX-E ‘Night Reaper’ on a night intruder patrol. A signed copy of this painting, with a dedication, was given by Jiří and Ondřej to Vee.

Pánové z Aviation Art Gallery zde oznámili svůj úmysl tento obraz, podepsaný paní Vee Darlington, vydražit a získanou částku poskytnout také na léčbu paní Mari Rowe a připojit se tak také k podpoře PROMEDICA PRAHA GROUP, a.s.

Extending the support already given by Promedica Praha Group a.s. for the treatment of Mari Rowe, Jiří and Ondřej announced their intention to auction this canvas painting, signed by Mrs Vee Darlington, with the proceeds being donated to help fund the required treatment for Mrs Mari Rowe

Záštitu a technickou realizaci převzal letecký časopis Flying Revue a dražba bude odstartována na webové stránce Flying Revue. Týmu Flying Revue děkujeme za jejich podporu a věříme, že se najde i štědrý mecenáš.
