311. peruť si připomenula leteckou základnu
v RAF Honingtonu.

On Friday 10 November 2017, a wreath was laid at the Airmen’s Memorial at RAF Honington in remembrance of the Czechoslovak airmen of 311 Sqn who served at that airfield during WW2.

V pátek 10. listopadu 2017 byl u Památníku letců v RAFv Honingtonu položen věnec na počest československých letců 311. perutě, kteří sloužili na tomto letišti během 2. světové války.

The Polish Airmen’s Association also joined in the event and a wreath was laid on their behalf in remembrance of their airmen who had also been stationed at the airfield.

Byl zde položen také věnec jménem Polské letecké asociace, na počest jejich letců, kteří také u RAF v Honingtonu působili.

During the small ceremony, Rev Flt/Lt Paul Stephens said a prayer by the memorial which was followed by a minutes silence and the two wreaths were then laid.

Během krátkého slavnostního ceremoniálu pronesl u Památníku modlitbu Rev Flt/Lt Paul Stephens, po níž následovala minuta ticha a poté byly položeny věnce.

Attending the event was Station Commander Group Captain Dave Tait, Air Commodore Haider Ali Shah from the Pakistani Air Force and Station Warrant Officer WO Darbyshire.

Akce se zúčastnili kapitán Dave Tait, velitel letecké základny, zástupce pakistánských Vzdušných sil pan Haider Ali Shah a důstojník základny WO Darbyshire.

311 Sqn was stationed at RAF Honington from its formation on 29 July 1940 until 16 September 1940, when it re-located to East Wretham.

311. bombardovací peruť působila na základně RAF v Honingtonu od jejího založení 29. července 1940 do 16. září 1940, kdy se přemístila do East Wretham.
