On Tuesday, 23 April 2024 an exhibition Héros du ciel was officially open at the Czech Embassy in Paris. The purpose of the exhibition is to acquaint the general public with the history of our airmen at the beginning of WW2, when many of them took part in the battles of L’Armée de l’Air during the Battle of France from 10. May to June 19, 1940. From history we know that after the fall of France our airmen continued to Great Britain to rejoin the fight for freedom. The second point of the exhibition is the participation of our airmen in the RAF during the landing in France in June 1944, the 80th anniversary of which we commemorate this year.

V úterý 23. dubna 2024 proběhlo na českém velvyslanecrtví v Paříži oficiální otevření výstavy Héros du ciel 1938 -1945. Účelem výstavy je seznámit širokou veřejnost s historií našich letců na začátku 2. světové války, kdy se řada z nich zapojila do bojů v rámci francouzského letectva v průběhu Bitvy o Francii v období od 10. května do 19. června 1940. Z historie víme, že po pádu Francie pokračovali naši letci do Velké Británie, aby se mohli znovu zapojit do boje za svobodu, Druhým bodem výstavy je účast našich letců v rámci RAF při Vylodění ve Francii v červnu 1944.

The exhibition consists of a total of 20 panels, 6 of a general nature and 14 dedicated to individual airmen. The panels are placed on the fence around the embassy and are thus accessible to the general public free of charge.

Výstavu tvoří celkem 20 panelů, 6 obecného rázu a 14 věnovaných jednotlivým letcům. Panely jsou umístěny na plotě kolem velvyslanectví a jsou tak bezplatně přístupné široké veřejnosti.

The evening was opened by His Excellency Michal FLEISCHMANN. Then Dagmar ŠIŠKOVÁ-JOHNSON gave a short speech, in which she recalled the role of FCAFA in the preparation of the exhibition. The curator of the exhibition, Benoit COLIN, was the last to give an extensive report on the fate of Eduard Prchal, after which he answered questions from the audience.

Večer zahájila Jeho excellence pan Michal FLEISCHMANN. Poté vystoupila s krátkým příspěvkem Dagmar ŠIŠKOVÁ-JOHNSON, ve kterém připomněla roli FCAFA v přípravě výstavy. Kurátor výstavy Benoit COLIN vystoupil jako poslední s obsáhlým referátem o osudu Eduarda Prchala, po kterém zodpovídal na otázky z publika.
