It was an honour to be at the unveiling in Stepánov of the memorial stone and plaque to my father, Karel Fialka, commemorating his time in action during WW2: firstly in the infantry in the Middle East and North Africa and then as a pilot in 311 Squadron (Czechoslovak) RAF Coastal Command. The stone is situated outside the cottage my father was born in. My thanks to the civic dignitaries of Přelouč and Stepánov for organizing the event which was well attended by local people as well as many Fialka relatives.
