and all the fallen Czechoslovak Airmen in World War 2.

Ta tmavá noc, ty černé vlny,

ta nekonečná dálka.

A tam jsme my letci,

sami a opuštěni….

Tak krutá a mrazivá je válka.

The dark night, the black waves,

the infinite distance.

And there we are Airmen,

alone and quiet….

So cruel and chilling is war.

I když jsme pro vás hrdinové,

věřte nám my máme starch.

Ale víra za svobodu nám dává zas a zas,

tu odvahu vzlétnout nad hluboké a studené moře,

to které se stalo naše posledni lože.

Even though we are for you heroes,

trust as we have fear.

But the belief in freedom gives us again and again,

the courage to take off over the deep and cold sea,

that which was our last bed.

Nezapomeňte na nás,

my všichni jsme stále s vámi.

A všechen starch, bolest i útrapy

jsou tam v hlubinách

pohřbeny s námi.

Do not forget us,

we are all still with you.

And all the fear, pain and suffering

are there in the depths buried with us.
