    Czech airmen contributed so much in the Second World War to the defeat of the Nazis and we shall never forget them. My father, Karel Kuttelwascher, the night fighter intruder ace survived the war but so many fellow Czechs did not.

    As a Brit who cherishes his freedom. I salute the gallant Czech air crews who through patriotism and an unswerving desire to destroy the German air force at home and abroad, assisted with the defeat of Nazi Germany and gained their freedom if only briefly, at such terrible cost. Salute!
