Weymouth – vzpomínka na Čechoslováky padlé

v Bitvě o Británii




The SouthWest Battle of Britain Memorial, at Weymouth, Dorset, commemorates the 2938 Allied airmen, of RAF Fighter Command, who fought in the Battle of Britain, 88 of whom were Czechoslovak. Named on this memorial are the 544 airmen who who lost their lives during that battle, 8 of whom were Czechoslovak.

Jihozápadní památník Bitvy o Británii ve Weymouthu v Dorsetu vzpomíná 2 938 pilotů Stíhacího velení RAF, kteří bojovali v Bitvě o Británii, z nichž 88 bylo Čechoslováků.

FCAFA volunteer Milena Kolarikova visited this Memorial to place bouquets on behalf of FCAFA, in remembrance of those 8 Czechoslovaks.

Milena Kolaříková, dobrovolník FCAFA, památník navštívila, aby uctila památku těchto osmi Čechoslováků a jménem FCAFA zde umístila osm pugétků v barvách československé trikolory, se jmény padlých.

The Battle of Britain was between 10 July 1940 until 31 October 1940. The 88 Czechoslovak’s who had made the required operational flight during that Battle had flown either with 310 or 312 (Czechoslovak) Squadrons or with other British Squadrons in RAF Fighter Command.

Bitva o Británii se bojovala mezi 10. červencem 1940 a 31. říjnem 1940. 88 Čechoslováků, kteří uskutečnili požadovaný operační let, létalo buď v 310. nebo 312.(československé)peruti nebo i v jiných britských perutích Stíhacího velení RAF.
